Matrix Elite 180CS 6.50-inch Component Speakers
Introducing the Matrix Elite Component System 6.50-inch 2-way! Completely rebuilt from top to bottom, these components boast new cones, suspensions, motors, voice coils, tweeters, and crossovers. Utilizing state-of-the-art materials, our woofer cones are comprised of three layers of glass fiber and Nomex that have been woven into a honeycomb matrix. These cones are lightweight, incredibly strong, and acoustically transparent so all you hear and feel is your music. Connect that to a larger voice coil, motor structure, and computer optimized suspension housed in a cast basket and you have a 6.50-inch driver with the ability to play down to 36Hz with authority. What of our patented silk soft dome tweeter? It has been reworked to fully exploit the acoustical benefits of a silk based soft dome tweeter. Combining the warmth and smoothness of our original tweeter with the dynamic range and bandwidth of a metal dome tweeter was not an easy feat, but it was not impossible either. The result? A tweeter capable of delivering unmatched response from 1.5KHz to 40,000Hz without any hint of harshness or ear fatigue. A new grille design improved our dispersion pattern to guarantee unequaled off-axis performance enlarging the "sweet spot" for all listeners. The crossover has been radically changed from orders to cross-over points and installation. The combination of these pieces with all of their respective technologies brings a level of sonic reproduction never thought possible into the car audio realm.
